Drinking The Essence of Life ~ Thirst First

Submitted by Kimberly Mac (RSS Feed)

Are you drinking your water?

75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.

In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is ignored. The mechanism is the same that signals hunger and thirst. The issue is that most of us are NOT hungry, we are actually thirsty and most of the time we can be satisfied by drinking water for 15 minutes and continuing to drink to re-hydrate. If after 15 minutes of drinking consistently, we are still having a sense of hunger, then it may be true hunger. Many of us mistake the hunger when it is really dehydration. Drink water and reduce weight by eating less when food is not called for by the body.

Listen and pay attention for thirst first.

Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as 3%. Stay hydrated with my strategy.

One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.

Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

Preliminary research indicates that 8-10, 10+ ounce glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.

A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.

5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, drops the risk of the developing bladder cancer by 50%.

Are you drinking the amount of water you should drink every day? How much is enough for hydration? Half our body weight in ounces of water is a start. Now if you stress, exercise, sweat, smoke or drink caffein, then you will need to increase that by the percentage you do those things. Not to exceed your body weight in ounces of water daily, unless you are in a dry climate and enduring immense water loss.

Balance is key for the body to stay hydrated and also to keep the mineral balance.. It is hard to drink TOO much water so that is not what people need to concern themselves with.

I confess, I rarely drink what I need to. I have THE strategy that works with everyone to drink more.

What is your strategy to start drinking more water?

Almost ALL of my clients say they drink tons of water. When I put them to my test, they cannot believe it; they all say they have never drank that much water before. I have never met someone who drinks enough water, unless they are doing a cleanse, which is easier since that is about the only thing we do get to have!

Colas and carbonated beverages, have a high acid pH which ranges from 2 - maybe up to 4, which means that with battery acid being a 1, and Coka Cola being a 2.8 (again I have not tested this but it is publicized as being this low of pH) that is extremely acidic to the body. This means that the more acid we are inside, then putting more into us, the more acid our bodies perform. This leads to issues in our joints with arthritus, issues in the bones with osteoporosis, issues in our connective tissues, which includes our brain made up of connective tissue, as well as disintegration of healthy functioning cellular communication that runs our bodies. Acid is linked directly to the cause of cancer.

It's a rumour that a Coke can dissolve a nail in a week. Check for yourself. If it WILL disintegrate a nail decide if it's an intelligent choice to put into your body.

Now when would you like a glass of water? Or would you choose a soda/Coke?

The question is, are you getting living water? You ask, what is living water?
